About the Auction

There’s something for everyone including items from HRC National Corporate Partners, travel experiences, great fitness packages, wine tastings, cool merchandise and much more! To improve the silent auction experience, especially to expedite checkout, we strongly encourage you to provide a credit card at check-in. With your smart phones, you will be able to bid anytime from anywhere at the event and be alerted when you have been outbid. At the end of the auction, you will know exactly what you've won and you can even have your receipt emailed to you.

Auction overview

Each year, our auctions contribute approximately 1/3 of the overall money raised to support HRC. Without the regular support and donations from so many San Francisco and Bay Area-based companies and organizations, our continued success would not be as high as it is now.

We have two auctions at each annual Gala; A Live Auction featuring our most valuable and sought after donations will occur during the dinner; and a Silent Auction begins roughly two hours before seating begins at the host location and ends at the same time as the event.

Attendees will be able to peruse the full ballroom of over 350+ high-quality travel, leisure, on-the-town, home goods, services, and more.

Alternatively, dinner guests can peruse photographs and bid directly from their smart phone using BidPal!

A donation to the auction will give your business unprecedented recognition from our dinner guests.

The San Francisco Bay Area HRC Gala Dinner and Auction is an exciting opportunity for Gala guests to bid on high-quality goods and services from a variety of businesses and organizations that are supportive of equality.

For last year's Gala Silent Auction, generous HRC supporters in the Bay Area donated more than $200,000 in fantastic values, including: wine, gift certificates, original artwork, home furnishings, professional services, dining and entertainment, retail merchandise, hotel stays, airline tickets, and high-quality travel packages.

The exciting (and always entertaining) Live Auction is one of the most vibrant components of the Gala. Bidders compete for luxury travel packages, exclusive Wine Country getaways, private dinners with celebrity chefs, and more!

Past HRC Gala Live Auction packages have included: cruises from Olivia, Cunard and RSVP; a private wine blending seminar, including a half-barrel of that special wine and dinner in the Proprietor's home from Dutcher Crossing Winery, a weekend at Boon Hotel and Spa for 28 people with a private wine-pairing dinner at Big Bottom Market; and a private dinner from Traci Des Jardins of Jardinere restaurant in the Wine Library of Hanzell Vineyards.

Items donated with a market value of greater than $5,000 will be guaranteed a spot in the Live Auction!

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction is selective in the products we display, and only offer 350 items in the auction each year. Because of the sheer size and scope of our auction, we kindly ask each donation have a minimum retail value of $100; however, we accept all donations and group items together in order to create some memorable packages.
